Five Lankans arrested with foreign currency

Five Sri Lankans who attempted to smuggle three pieces of gold and foreign cash worth over five million rupees to India were arrested today by the Katunayaka Airport customs

The custom officials said that the two suspects belong to a gang in the Akurana area in the Kandy District. The gang had arrived at the airport at about 2.00pm today and were heading to Chennai. (Deepa Adikari)
