A traditional dancer was remanded today for allegedly threatening to post revealing pictures of his fiancée on facebook, if she did not provide him with her facebook password.

Police arrested the suspect and found pictures of the dancer and his 20-year-old girl friend stored on his computer. The girl had complained to the police about his threats.

The photographs on the computer had depicted intimate scenes of the young couple captured at various hotels. (Suranjith Perera)

BAN Facebook, it has become anti-social & even in USA & UK, FB is the top cause for divorce, if it doesn't suit their culture, where it was found, how can we expect it to suit us with our traditions.

why blame others when one cannot control his/her behavior. Self Respect & Social Dignity is the most important qualification any human can have.

I would like to recall a quote from Lord Bhuddah. "Out thourghts make things beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly, the whole world is in our mind" Lets not blame FB but let us cultivate good habits. Parents are the culprits who give their children unnecessary freedom thinking that my son or daughter will never do things bad. Teach them, guide them and watch them when necessary to make corrections.

Problem comes when you try to emulate the USA

You know why our economy going Kota Uda? Because now even SriLankan Airlines has started a new Facebook Page. What a joke man. Airlines must concentrate on efficient routes and other opportunities like organising conga dances to grab olympics instead of doing stupid things like opening Facebook pages. This will only help Facebook stock prices to shoot up and SriLankan shares to go into the bokkuwa like our economy.Though I know nothing about economics, the people who advise me tell me so.

    Use Face Book with care.

    xlntgson Sunday, 18 November 2012 04:13 PM

Why you upload your photos and videos? Such thing makes you scared to know that someone can hack yours, no need to give password. This fear makes fb an unpopular site though they boast millions use it. May be fools think it is fool proof!

    dachee Sunday, 18 November 2012 03:53 PM

Totally agreed. tweeter ,Skype are good options. face book is far too much

    Indeewara Sunday, 18 November 2012 03:47 PM

    Revolted Sunday, 18 November 2012 03:42 PM

The problem does not come from 'USA fellows.' These two are Sri Lankans, they took photos of themselves in compromising situations, and they posted the photos. Blame them and their up-bringing.

    KIrala Sunday, 18 November 2012 03:34 PM

Well, when you go to bed with dogs, you wake up with.........

    Lobo Sunday, 18 November 2012 03:19 PM

She should have thought twice about going to a hotel with this pervert if she really was worried about 'saving face'.

    SJ Sunday, 18 November 2012 03:12 PM

The immoral trend of young people in our today’s society is that they rush to hotel rooms before they actually get married. Rooms are easily accessible in every nook and cranny. Social networks have nothing to do with that. Your actions, your responsibility!

    lucky Sunday, 18 November 2012 03:11 PM

    Bloody loser!!!

    Eneff Sunday, 18 November 2012 02:44 PM

Lord Buddha said - "not to mis-behave, through intimacy". Control anger; control yourself. Not just one side, but both male and female.

Wimal Moada Wansa Sunday, 18 November 2012 01:30 PM
