Farbrace undecided

Sri Lankan Cricket coach Paul Farbrace had indicated to the Sri Lanka Cricket officials this morning that he had not made a decision regarding his career despite receiving a more lucrative offer from the England and Wales Cricket Board.

“We met him this morning and we had a very cordial discussion with him. He didn’t demand for anything from us, but said that the ECB had provided him with an attractive package,” SLC Secretary Nishantha Ranathunga told the Daily Mirror Online.

Ranathunga said that there was implication that Farbrace was looking at the ECB offer positively.

“We indicated that we would like him to be with us, he is yet to make a decision which would be communicated to us shortly,” Ranathunga said.

The Executive Committee is scheduled to meet later this evening in order to be briefed about what transpired during the discussion with Farbrace. (HF)

Dear Mr. Farbrace, with lot of respect to you I write this. Thank you for winning us the T20 and thank to you our team is in top form. No doubt about that. Whatever decision you take, all the very best to you. And in case if you leave for ECB, please do us Sri Lankan fans and cricketers by revealing what's behind SLC curtain if there's anything.

Mr Farbrace, thanks for helping the Sri Lankan team which was on its way upwards anyway after a lean period and I believe Mr Graham Ford too should get some credit as he was instrumental in getting the players back to shape and the results of hard work we see it now. However, Mr Farbrace back to you its good for you financially but you are a young coach and believe me there are no wonders that you nor the new coach for England can do at this moment and in the long run to go from a head coach to an assistant coach may be the beginning of your downfall. You are a Fool I am sorry but that's true, Good luck anyway.

I wish he stays at least till the 2015 WC because there is little time for a new coach to get to know the Lankan team, their strengths and weaknesses. We cannot stop him if he wants to leave especially when this new assignment is more lucrative. If SLC is smart enough they should make him an offer he cannot refuse and persuade him to stay.

Dear Mr. Farbrace do not destroy gentlemens game. You accepted the offer of SLC and signed the contract for two years. There are things called commitment, responsibility and ethics in this world. You will be remembered as a person who can be bought by money for your entire life. You don't want that. via DM Android App
