The Nugegoda Magistrate has directed the Mount Lavinia Division Probation officer to find ways of providing English medium education to the two children of Sakvithi Ranasinghe who are presently kept at the Child Development Centre.

The Magistrate gave the direction to a Probation Officer consequent to being informed that the two children had already obtained education in the English medium at an international school and that the shift to Sinhala medium will put the children in a 'difficult situation'.

Meanwhile the Probation Officer has stated that the children are leading a normal life but that their grandparents are reluctant on taking over their custody due to the difficulty of providing security for the children.

they were stupid enough so partially i guess they got what they deserved multiplied a few times over. nevertheless all action should be done for the protection of these children.

Poor kids, must be traumatic for them to be put into a situation like this due to the parents action.

If the government can feed and fondle a hulk like KP, why not do some thing for these two kids?

All Government schools teach either in Sinhala or Tamil Medium. Only private schools offer English medium education. Therefore, who is going to pay the high fees of the private school.................is it the Magistrate, Government (Taxpayer), or the Depositors (Sakvithi). If the Government is going to bear.........everybody will put there children in English medium........do fraudulent transactions and enjoy in Government Jail/Hhospitals (like Kotelawala did). Please think country before self.

Sometimes, out of the blues, something good happens. We feel glad that the kids who had nothing to do with the father's sins are been looked after well. Good show.

Yeah, we do the same, We protect KP, Karuna and Pillayan and lock and strip the person who did the supreme sacrifice.
But, I vote for this action as "Yes"
