UPFA Parliamentarian Duminda Silva has been acquitted from the case of his alleged abduction of actress Anarkali Akarsha. The Mt. Lavinia Additional magistrate acquitted Minister Silva this morning.

The actress had made a complaint to the Colpetty police on Jyly 06, 2008, claiming that she was abducted by a group of Duminda Silva’s supporters while signing a contract for a new movie, at Swarna Road, Wellawatte. (AW)

To all Judges. Why dosent the law of the country apply for Ministers and MP's? If any of the cases against our MP's and Ministers and govt. are taken up in an independent country, the verdicts might put all of you to shame. There is no reprieve for the normal citizen. Once license of his radio station was canceled , then he crossed over and license was granted back . Again he was convicted for abducting of "Anarkeli " and now it is said that he has been acquitted . God knows why !
