Court orders under graduate to be produced before court

Colombo Chief Magistrate Court ordered the Prison Superintendent to produce an  under graduate who allegedly assaulted a lecturer of the Colombo University on Friday during an altercation, before court tomorrow.
 
Chief Magistrate Rashmi Singappuli made this order considering the submissions made by the counsel
 
The suspect Kalupahana Amila Tharanga a third year student of the Arts Faculty  was remanded on  Saturday by the Colombo Additional magistrate till December 12 allegedly  for assaulting   lecturer  Osanda Yasassri Gunaratne when the lecturer attempted  to save a fresher from the clutches of the  suspect  who had  harassed the fresher near the University canteen.
 
The suspect was suspended from the University and was remanded till December 12. The counsel for the suspect filed a motion before the court and moved to grant bail to the suspect. On considering the submissions of the counsel the magistrate ordered the suspect to be produce in court tomorrow. (T.Farook Thajudeen)
