Complaints on Election Day

Complaints on election violations on voting day can be lodged with the Election Secretariat, the Secretariat said.

Complaints can be made via Fax in the following areas to the respective numbers:

Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara 0112877634
Kandy, Matale and Nuwara Eliya 0112877635
Galle, Matara and Hambanthota 0112877636
Mullaitivu, Mannar and Vavuniya 0112877637
Trincomalee, Batticaloa and Ampara 0112877638
Anuradhapura and Pollonnaruwa 0112877639
Kurunegala and Puttalama 0112877640
Badulla and Monaragala 0112877641
Kegalle and Ratnapura 0112877642

A total of 50,000 police personnel have been deployed for election duty while 20,000 STF and armed forces personnel will also assist when necessary at the Local Government election today.

Police has so far received 165 complaints with the Police Elections Desk. Hundred and forty persons including 15 Local Government election candidates have been arrested for election violence incidents. (Supun Dias)

    30% turn out by noon shows how much people are interested in changing or selecting their representatives!!!! Seriously pray for our motherland!!!
