Complain to BC: Avant Garde Chief tells Rajitha

Avant Garde Chairman Nissanka Senadhipathi said today Minister Rajitha Senaratne should complain to the Bribery Commission according to the proper procedure without making allegations to the media.

He denied having offered any bribes to the minister and said if it was so the minister would not have hesitated to complain to the appropriate authorities.

“Dr. Senaratne is a public servant and a cabinet minister but he is lying without any shame. I am asking him to go to the Bribery Commission without making baseless allegations against me in public. Otherwise I will send him a letter of demand. Isn’t there a law in this country? I will meet him at the Bribery Commission if he goes there,” Mr. Senadhipathi said.

He said the Health Minister had had a record of making erroneous statements to the media in the recent past and this instance was no different.

“You saw how he got so many things wrong and how much trouble he got into after making false comments about the Nigerian government. This is no different to that,” Mr. Snadhipathi said.

He was responding to an allegation made by the minister that a respondent cited in the controversial Avant Garde case had offered him a bribe of Rs.40 million to remain silent on this matter for just two weeks and that another person had offered him a bribe of Rs.300 million. (JG)

If there was a law in this country, many wrongdoers now in public offices should have enjoying life inside a jail.I have few more question to you Senadipthi,1. Who is spending money to make two-three page advertisement on behalf of you in a Sunday news paper last three-four months?2. Did all your company expenses mentioned in those advertisements were in company accounts?3. Did your company pay relevant taxes according to company earnings? 4. Did you pay your personal taxes according to your earnings. correctly in last five years.If your answer is no to any of above, you are supposed to be in Jail long before.

Rajitha acts like he is the main man who calls the shots in this government. Surely he did not play that role in last gov and may have been wanting that. May be that was the reason for him to quit it as well. I saw him answering journalists when they asked about the complain by Udaya Gammanpila against president and prime minister. He was blasting everyone like mad. I hope truths will reveal fast. History will decide the place they belong.

This minister is bringing so much of disrepute to the government by his irresponsible statements. If someone offered him a bribe, he should have informed the police or BC immediately. If he did not, he is also committing a crime under the law.
