Better build a New Parliament elsewhere & convert this present parliament to a Multi-million dollar Gaming Casino/gaming room complex with all the modern Hi-tech facilities.

    Bigsam Tuesday, 16 November 2010 11:29 AM

Fully behind you jag. I have seen recent reports about the attendence in parliament for key debates, which is pathetic. No one will miss a thing if the whole house sinks in!

    ramfer Tuesday, 16 November 2010 11:30 AM

That's what happens when you build new structures in the middle of lake in rain prone country.

obama laden Tuesday, 16 November 2010 11:33 AM

    Ravy Tuesday, 16 November 2010 11:34 AM

    Nice question Ajith.
Is the committee going to be headed by the learned members that profited from the sale of Muthurajawela and Bellanwila marshlands?

Smart Aleck Tuesday, 16 November 2010 11:41 AM

Don't worry, the plans are being made to shift the Parliament and the Capital to the Kingdom of Hambantota.

    Ravy Tuesday, 16 November 2010 11:51 AM

Better even to move to Beliatta. While the Chinese are still around, they will build us a new one in no time.

Angoda Sene Tuesday, 16 November 2010 12:05 PM

    gamini Tuesday, 16 November 2010 12:14 PM

So they are only concerned with the Parliament getting flooded and hell with rest of the country. No wonder this country is going backwards !!!!

Calistus Jayatilleke Tuesday, 16 November 2010 01:08 PM

Looks like they have got their priorities mixed up. The priority is to go into the reasons why Colombo city is getting flooded at this unprecedented level inconveniencing the general public which number thousands and not the Parliament building which does ot serve any purpose to the country except entertain and enrich a few useless MPs.

    upul Tuesday, 16 November 2010 01:35 PM

This is the best comment so far. I remember a time when the road through Hambantota used to be impassable during the monsoon season.

palitha kulasinghe Tuesday, 16 November 2010 02:33 PM
