Nodrog Monday, 21 January 2013 02:53 PM
How about a ban on cooked up promises to voters during elections?

Excellent move if it works.
The way some food products specially milk foods are advertised, is horrible.
For example some companies advertise that when you drink some malted milk you become superman, Calcium rich milk prevent, ostporosis, non fat milk helps to reduce weight & helps in diabetes, which are absolute rubbish.
Poor people waste so much money following these stupid advertisements.

Very good move. How is that AJINO MOTO which is added to curries is being sold. Few years back this item was banned in Sri Lanka by the Health Authorities.

Sri Lanka government should look to band pasting posters , on the walls, A popular campaigner has pasted a poster on my gate which cost me around LKR 300 K ..... and the walls as well .
kaputakukula Sunday, 20 January 2013 12:18 PM
Do the HM authority require samples of the food also? Why approval for every ad? Make a rule what not to be said in the ad and what be told so the cooked food traders can abide by them UNLESS this is a mode of another earning trick by the Health Ministry.

I'm not sure if this is a good idea since this is all marketing. and the people should be intelligent enough to decide for themselves.
Besides most of the political advertisements are misleading people :P :P
