Arrested while boarding

Ten men had been taken into custody while trying to board a boat to go abroad in Kattankudy yesterday, Police said.

Another eleven men who are believed to be involved in arranging the journey had also been taken in.

Police said that the men were from Palaly, Karaveddy, Chavakachcheri, Vadukottai and Kattankudy area.

Water bottles, dry ration, a few pharmaceutical items have also been seized by the police.

Police said that the suspects would be produced in the Batticaloa Magistrate Court today.
