TORONTO - A 15th suspected most-wanted criminal was placed under arrest hours before a new list of terror and organised crime figures was unveiled by Pubic Safety Minister Vic Toews.

Toronto Police arrested Tharmapaskaran Sellathamby late Tuesday, officials said.

Proceedings are underway to deport him to Sri Lanka.

Toews said the new criminals include those sought for serious national security and organised crime offences.

Seven of the 15 arrested criminals have already been deported.

"Our government will continue to be vigilant at the border, within our communities and around the world," Toews told reporters Wednesday in Toronto.

He said more than 225 Canadians have called in with tips, adding he's pleased with the response from the public.

Earlier today, Immigration Minister Jason Kenney released the names of another 42 criminals hiding out in Canada, in hopes the public can help track them down for deportation.

Speaking in Montreal, Kenney said the individuals are considered dangerous from either a national security standpoint, or by their possible links to organised crime.

All 42 have been added to the list of persons wanted by the Agency Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) - a list that was originally unveiled last summer after a QMI Agency report.
