A 20-year-old rider of a motorcycle had been remanded over a fatal accident in which a seven-year-old girl and one-year-old girl were killed at Egodauyana on the Panadura-Moratuwa Road.
The rider of the motorcycle was remanded until December 18 after being produced in the Moratuwa Magistrate’s Court.
Police said the rider was earlier arrested by the Panadura Police over reckless driving and had been imposed a fine of Rs. 15,000 by the Panaduwa Magistrate.

He should be charged with murder as he hit these people on a pedestrian crossing. His bike should be confiscated as an example to other idiots.

My condolences on the loss of two innocent children and swift recovery of the grieving and injured mother, the fact that a lot of this type of road behavior is being given a lot of exposure on social media and the authorities turning a blind eye and not taking any action seems to make them feel like (in their minds) hero's. For the sake of all those motorists and pedestrians not involved please take them to book, and assert the maximum possible fines/punishments.

Based on his age...as a concession, a 6 years of mandatory Jail term should be imposed 1.5 million rupees for each life lost or injured totalling 6 Million Sri Lankan Rupees....must be penalised. FAILURE to compensate, an additional one year of Jail term should be imposed for each life lost. Total 10 years. This will be a lesson to all those idiots and ass licking parents who raise such murderers to the society. This guy's father is a wood Mudalali, and has affiliation with small time politicians....and let his pay the blood money of 6 Million for his son.....
