Work on Ratnapura Highway to commence in Jan 2021

The work on the proposed Ratnapura Highway will begin before January 15 2020, Minister of Highways Johnston Fernando said.

Minister Fernando said the total distance of the Ratnapura highway would be 74km.

He said the work on the 32.5km Pothuhera Galagedara stretch of the Central Highway will begin before the end of the year.

" We have also allocated Rs 40 billion for the payment of compensation to those whose lands will be taken over," he added.
