UNP national list nomination, decision today

Though it was speculated that UNP Legal Secretary Nissanka Nanayakkara will be appointed to Parliament through the solitary national list allocation, the party is expected to finalise it today, party sources said.

Mr. Nanayakkara told Daily Mirror that no final decision has been made on the national list though he is tipped to be the one would be appointed to Parliament through the national list slot which the UNP had been allocated.

Asked whether the decision would be made today Mr. Nanayakkara said it would be decided today. Mr. Nanayakkara did not rule out that the possibility that he would be appointed to the post.(Yohan Perera)
