A trishaw driver and two women were killed and four others injured in a collision between a three-wheeler and a van belonging to the Navy at Polgahawela this morning, police said.
They said the accident had occurred at 10.30 am at the Medalanda bend on the Kurunegala - Ambepussa Main Road.
Three children who were in the three-wheeler and the van driver were among those injured.
They were rushed to the Polgahawela Hospital and later transferred to the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

This is not the ocean. Navy cannot drift from lane to lane. Police need to enforce the law equally no exception for the navy. I have seen navy vehicles park illegally when there is a sign posted "NO PARKING" what is their problem ? Is walking a short distance a problem after parking at a designated spot ?
