State Minister, four others injured in Pallama road mishap

Four persons including Plantation Industries State Minister Arundika Fernando were slightly injured when their jeep overturned on the Serukele area in Pallama this morning (20), Pallama Police said. The State Minister met with the accident while on his way to Nelumgama in Karuwalagaswewa where President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's 'Gama Samaga Pilisandarak' Programme was in progress. The State Minister said the accident took place near the Serukele bend on Anamaduwa-Chilaw road this morning. Fernando, despite being slightly injured after the accident, reached the venue of the programme in another vehicle, police said The jeep was severely damaged in the mishap, the police said.
