Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena received the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine at the Army Hospital in Narahenpita this morning.
Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Gopal Bagley was also present while the vaccine was administered to the Speaker.
The Speaker received this vaccine to encourage the people.
Meanwhile, 24 Government and Opposition MPs have received the Oxford–AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine as of this afternoon. (Yohan Perera)

Usually the key figures in public to this to encourage the masses when the massed are reluctant to take the vaccine. In Sri Lanka we are used to vaccination and there is no such reluctance. This is a lame excuse. We should also not that he is a "Paniya".
