The Negombo Chief Magistrate today released Sarath Kumara Gunaratne, who was a former deputy minister, on a cash bail of Rs.50, 000 with two sureties of Rs.5 lakhs each and banned him from travelling abroad.
He was remanded after he surrendered to the Negombo Police in connection with an accident in 2002, in which one person was killed. (Hubert Fernando)
