The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) today decided to immediately expel eight members who voted in favour of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution.
SJB MPs Harin Fernando and Eran Wickramaratne confirmed that the parliamentary group decided to expel SJB MPs Nazir Ahamed, Ishaq Rahman, Faisal Cassim, A Arvind Kumar, Diana Gamage, M, S. Thaufiq Alizahir Raheem and Mohammed Haris from the group.
Mr. Fernando said Diana Gamage had already been expelled from the party.
“The eight members will no longer be considered members of the SJB,” he said.
In addition, the group decided to let party leaders of the relevant constituent parties take disciplinary action on MPs belonging to their parties.
Accordingly, Tamil Progressive Alliance Leader Mano Ganesan said he had already expelled MP Arvind Kumar from the party.
SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem said he would announce his party’s decision on the dissidents tomorrow. (Yohan Perera)

In any other Democratic country the MP's who DIDN'T toe the party line will lose their parliament membership !! Yeah not ONLY expelled from the party!!
