The death-row inmates who are protesting on the roof of the chapel ward of Welikada Prison are refusing to negotiate, the Prisons Department said.

At least ten prisoners who were sentenced to death launched a protest yesterday demanding that their long prison terms be reduced.

Prison Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said that the Prisons Commissioner (Operation) had discussed with the protesting inmates.

However, they continue to protest refusing to negotiate, he said. (DSB)

You deserve the sympathy; NOT only that, demand a good job when you are out or money for living!! That is the Sri Lankan Way - America does it wrongly! See how they drive? They have no Human Qualities or Brains as Sri Lankans!!

This guys should not be shown any sympathy. Both our president and the ex-president set a wrong precedent by releasing two well-known murderers.
