Probe launched into suspicious death of four elephants

Wildlife officials of Sigiriya had launched an investigation into the suspicious death of four elephants at Hiriwadunna in Habarana.

Wildlife officials said the bodies of the elephants were found near a tank this morning.

They said a pregnant elephant was also among the deceased. Officials suspect the elephants may have been poisoned. (By Kanchana Ariyadasa)
