The temperature felt on the human body is expected to increase up to ‘Danger’ level at some places in Puttalam, Anuradhapura, Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu districts, the Meteorology Department warned. 

It also issued “extreme caution” heat warnings to the Eastern, Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa provinces and the districts of Kurunegala, Polonnaruwa, Monaragala and Kilinochchi.

The department advised the public to remain hydrated and take breaks.
