The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has called for a comprehensive report from the SSP Kegalle into the yesterday's incident in Hettimulla, where large number of people gathered to get the Ayurvedic syrup, ignoring health guidelines, Police said.

Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said necessary action would be taken upon receiving the report from Kegalle SSP.

A massive crowd thronged at a traditional Ayurvedic centre in Hettimulla, Kegalle on Tuesday to get samples of the product after it was reported that the Ayurvedic syrup would cure Covid-19.

Several Police teams have been dispatched to the location to control the crowd gathering.

Very foolish both the people and the man who claims to have the medicine

IGP, Instead investigating those who rushed to get the Ayurvedic syrup, please investigate Why the doctors have failed miserably in this Covid crisis.

People are desperate and badly need moral; phycolological , medical, and financial support.Instead of supporting this kind voluntery service; this government and its politicians create fear in the minds of people . They try to punish them...They try to bully them.. This is nothing but an institutional bullying. government is unable to provide medicine for people..it will take months till medicine reaches to Sri Lanka for the covid-19. do they have to live with fear or take this locally made medicine. IGP must invistigate if Kegalle police did its duty at this place. Did they give enough protection for people? Did they keep people in social distance? Did they check mask wearing? Did police do its duty? No need to punish this local vedamahathya and people..but see if kegalle police did some thing to control people .

What's there to call for reports? Ask from those in uniform who are in line to get the 'kalagedi Peniya'. Wonder if a serpent will emerge again from the kelani amidst devotees carrying lotus buds?

Fault is with the Heath Minister. By taking that medice she kind of endorsed it.

If the Medicine is going to cure.. then why worry about any gathering. It's the TV show of the government ministers gave publicity for this... Now show your colours to them not to the Ayurvedic center or the people.

when it comes to trust, my trust level for South East Asian is low because they grew up in a corrupted environment so it is hard to expect they have high moral standards. Their words are sweet but actions can be opposite. I do not mean all South East Asian but in general. I do that to protect myself

Covid-19 - Goverment MPs are supportive of this move by the ayurvedic person but opposition MPs are not against this move, they need a systematic approach to this approved by relevant authorities. Government is frightening the people as said by President that when officials and doctors are panicked, thereby creating more panic among the masses.

Don't do political with everything. It is not the work of Minister of Health to do advertisement. Dont't blame the people or the policemen. They followed suit of the Minister. It is the duty of medical expert to do this. If it is successful the product has to be promoted at the international level. Don't discourage him.All the fault with some fools in the parliament,Not all.
