Geetha Kumarasinghe has filed an appeal at the Supreme Court against the Appeal Court's decision which disqualified her as a parliamentarian.

A court of appeal decision recently ruled that Kumaasinghe could not hold a seat in parliament as she was also dual citizenship holder.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror Kumarasinghe said her lawyers had filed the appeal at the Supreme Court.

“I will also meet and inform the chairman of the elections commission that I can remain a parliamentarian until the Supreme Court decision,” she said. (DS)

It is clearly stated in The Constitution. If you cannot interpret that, please go back to school and get an education.

Hope SC could give a ruling to create a precedence and abolish the MP's with dual citizenship and recover all costs and perks given to these morons.

Appeal against the verdict is just for kill the time. It will take another 2 years to give supreme court verdict and it will end of this parliament session. Geetha has pay back for all the benefit she has enjoyed expenses of our money after the initial court ruling. Some people try to fool the law.
