Nearly 50 priests and Rev. brothers belonging to a Christian denomination in Mattakuliya have undergone PCR tests after some priests were suspected to be COVID 19 positive, Chief Medical Officer Colombo Municipal Council Dr. Ruwan Wijayamuni said..

There were reports that around 20 priests were found positive but Dr. Wijayamunin told Daily Mirror that the test results were yet to come and may be delayed for a short period.

“We may be able to tell whether these priests are positive or not only after results arrive,” he said.

He said the religious house belonged to a minor Christian denomination which was not a mainstream church.(Yohan Perera)
