keep fuel price at fixed rate ,high or low does not matter, gvt shall keep the price fixed. All other services and commodities are mostly depend on oil price .Changing the price every month is not something we want.

    sach Friday, 12 October 2018 11:00 AM

There is a formula. So the price changes. Dotta Harsha even suggested applying the formula weekly so that we can change the price weekly. :)

    ase Friday, 12 October 2018 11:05 AM

yes true, the problem is when the oil price goes they increase but not other way, then again starting to increase from the all ready increased price so we never get a fair price.

    Cluless Sunday, 14 October 2018 07:37 AM

In the short term we have to depend more on global oil prices as we will not have enough money or facilities to buy in bulk when price cycle is down.In the longterm we need to shift to lithium powered vehicles sooner.

    Moiez Friday, 12 October 2018 12:14 AM

Mr.Prime Minister even if the global price of petrol comes down you will not reduce the price of petrol in sri lanka, you know very how hard the small income people got effected and what are the hardship people going thru. Better step down.Dont talk bullshit.

    Sunil Friday, 12 October 2018 03:01 AM

See if you can really do it. Your action has been to burden the masses while offering untold luxuries to the 225 morons in the parliament including yourself.

    RuwanL Friday, 12 October 2018 06:05 AM

We can reduce the import of crude oil by having strict discipline on the roads. adhere to all traffic laws. Train the traffic police on rules of the road! It will also bring in additional income to the government. police should catch all violator including the ministers!

    Talk Friday, 12 October 2018 08:14 AM

Yeah; Heavy traffic on the road daily, burs fuel. PM is good at "Talk the Talk".

    dave Friday, 12 October 2018 08:32 AM

I remember PM asked this kind of report for price increasing of small vehicles. What happened to that report? this is just a drama

Liberal One Friday, 12 October 2018 09:05 AM

There is one way. Get the 99 oil tanks in Trinco under govt control and store when world prices go. But IMF and India won't allow you to do it.

    Hesh Friday, 12 October 2018 10:38 AM

Man spot one! we need a president with a backbone to to just tell these guys to go to hell and do whatever we want

    Aiyo Friday, 12 October 2018 11:06 AM

It doesn’t work that way. Also Those tanks are beyond repair.

    Srilankan Friday, 12 October 2018 09:11 AM

PM let's drill in Colombo and search for fuel....

    Patriot Friday, 12 October 2018 10:33 AM

Instead try to find the way to save fuel to reduce imports, save foreign exchange, and stop wastage by state vehicles, reduce some taxes and corruption involved in import of fuel if any.

    sach Friday, 12 October 2018 11:01 AM

Sri Lanka must be the only country to face such shocks while having 99 oil tanks.

    Sambo Friday, 12 October 2018 11:10 AM

Very simple. Don't use your vehicles. Use public transport and let only the big headed politicos to use their super luxury vehicles. This prime minister is livening in another world. Full of dreams only.

    Sanje Friday, 12 October 2018 01:44 PM

    Unchikun Friday, 12 October 2018 01:45 PM

    will Friday, 12 October 2018 07:09 PM

whom he is going to fool, last time when increased car prices by increasing tax, he ordered finance ministry, asking report on when can reduce vehicle prices

    GH Saturday, 13 October 2018 11:36 PM

while talking in vain, the next price hike will follow in a couple of days.

    Manu Sunday, 14 October 2018 09:57 AM

The best and only way reduce fuel prices is that the RW get out of the govt. or UNP resigns and hand over the govt. to another party. RW is a usless leader. He has only ideas.
