Water supply in the areas of Kelaniya, Peliyagoda, Wattala, Biyagama, Mahara, Dompe and Gampaha would be temporary interrupted tomorrow (30) due to an essential maintenance work of Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) said yesterday.
NWSDB said between 8a.m. to 7p.m. water supply would be interrupted at the areas in the Kelaniya, Peliyagoda, Wattala, Mahara Pradeshiya and Biyagama Pradeshiya Sabahs’ including the Biyagama Investment Zone.
It also said the water supply for the Dekatana- Namaluwa, Malwana, Kalukodayawa and Dompe belongs to Dompe Pradeshiya Sabha and the Ja-Ela pradeshiya Sabha and Municipal council areas, Katunayake-Seeduwa Municiple Council areas also be interrupted.
Meanwhile, the water supply in the areas of Gampaha Pradeshiya Sabha including Ihala and Pahala Yagoda, Piyaratna Mawatha, Weliweriya and Rathupaswala will also be suspended.
NWSDB spokesman said that due to CEB maintenance they were unable to distribute the water in the mentioned areas.
The NWSDB requests the public to use water sparingly and apologies for the inconvenience. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)
