DMC issues special weather advisory

The Disaster Management Centre today issued a special weather advisory for heavy rain falls for the next 48 hours.

It said South west monsoon conditions are establishing over the country and showers or thundershowers would occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-Western provinces.

“Heavy falls of more than 150 mm can be expected at some places. There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers,” the advisory said.
