All chairpersons and board members of state-owned enterprises, regulatory bodies and other statutory institutions have been asked to resign by a special circular issued by the Finance Ministry today.

Therefore, all management bodies of those institutions will stand dissolved.

The Ministry said all ministry secretaries had been informed about this regard.

Moreover, it said the government had summoned all political appointees functioning as ambassadors and high commissioners to the country.

This decision has been taken in accordance with the prevailing practice after the election of a new head of state.

No more political ambassadors. Only carrier diplomats as high commissioners and ambasdors. All statutory bodies must get only qualified professionals in all top management functions. The way to go forward. Or get back to old fashioned roughs and ruin the country please .

Yeah, yeah, yeah this to replace them with their own political appointees that had financial hardship for the last five years. Don't be suckered in to believe that anything good going to occur. Believe it when you see it.

There will be political pressure to re-appoint same Chairpersons and Board of Directors. Hope this will not happen this time for SRI LANKA TELECOM
