One of the five suspects who had been arrested over the assaulting of Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ibrahim Ansar, at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, was reported to be a man who was arrested in Sri Lanka under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA), the Joint Opposition said yesterday.

Speaking at a media briefing, Joint Opposition member A. H. M. Azwer MP said several Tamil newspapers in Malaysia had reported that the suspect, named Kalei Mugilan, had been released after his jail term.

“It has been reported to us that the five men including Mugilan had gone up to Mr. Ansar at the airport premises and threatened him and asked him to reveal the whereabouts of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa who was then in Malaysia for the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP). Mr. Ansar had denied providing them with any information about Mr. Rajapaksa,” he said. (Kalathma Jayawardhane)

Then why Ranil and Anura Kumara are deceptively declaring that attempts to gloss over the LTTE

    SL Friday, 09 September 2016 11:31 AM

Pardoning will not erase the tiger terrorist's mindset .so ,release all LTTE suicide carders and requested by UN(WEST),TNA, and let them blow the country again

Do not jump the gun. As per the Malaysian Police the suspects are nationals of that country. They are looking-out for 3 others who were involved in the incident.Ranil and Anura Kumara had stated the facts in the parliament.

The truth is a combination of Lankan and Indian Tamils - may be still in immigrant status or already naturalazied but they are definitely not original Malaysians or Chinese, they are not violent people like these thugs.

They may be citizens now but they would have been terrorists here, hence arrest under PTA. As usual Ranil talks without ascertaining the facts
