A 43-year-old COVID-19 patient from Grandpass escaped from the National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases, Welisara last evening and an operation has been launched to apprehend him, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said the patient had provided a fake address to the authorities when he was admitted to hospital, as if he was a resident of Maradana.
It was revealed that the suspect is a drug addict and the Mahabage Police are conducting an investigation to net the suspect.
The spokesman said that a total of six Covid-19 patients who were treated at hospitals have escaped up to now. All the escapee were identified as drug addicted, he further said.(DSB)

WHY ESCAPING?? Lack of treatment and staff behavior not so good. Please treat the patient like a politician. Then they will stay.

Only way to keep them there is, up-on admission let them know that the hospital pharmacy is authorized to sell drugs legally there. No need to escape when you have the full mixture right at the doorstep !
