AG files indictments over Welikada Prison riot case

The Attorney General has filed indictments before the Trial-at-Bar in the Colombo High Court over the alleged Welikada Prison riot case and the court had issued notices subsequently on the accused to appear before the court on July 18, 2019. 

The accused in this case are Moses Neyomal Rangajeewa, Lamahewage Emil Ranjan and Imaduwage Indika Sampath.

Earlier, the AG requested the Chief Justice to appoint a Trial-at-Bar to hear this case, and thereby Judges Gihan Kulathunga, Pradeep Hettiarachchi and Manjula Thilakarathna were appointed to the Trial-at-Bar. (Shehan Chamika Silva)
