55 workers at Meegoda factory contract Covid-19

At least 55 persons who were working in a factory warehouse in Meegoda have tested positive for Covid-19, said Homagama Medical Officer of Health, Jagath Kumara.

He said seven workers were confirmed to have contracted the virus with the PCR tests carried out on 26 workers yesterday.

Thereafter, the rest of the workers was also subjected to PCR tests where 48 were found as Covid-19 patients.

Accordingly, the infected persons were admitted to hospitals and steps were taken to place the close contacts of the positive patients under quarantine.
