30 houses damaged due to high winds

More than 30 houses were damaged in Matale, Wilgamuwa and Polonnaruwa areas due to strong winds & lightning today, the Disaster Management Centre said.

Meanwhile, about 80 shanties, located in the Uva, North Central and Eastern provincial areas were partly damaged due to high winds that experienced with the heavy rain last evening, the DMC said. Due to the damages some 300 people have been displaced, it said.
