Nowadays Wesak has turned into dinner dances, partys and tamashas and no religious value in it. Chief Buddhist monks must take the responsibility for letting temple chiefs to do these things.

Now a days everyone want to be a leader there are no followers. Even religious leaders don't know what tolerance is so how can we can expect students to behave in a good manner. The BBS and other religious groups should start thinking on this line and should try to inculcate good qualities first among them and then to others.....
thusith Tuesday, 07 May 2013 11:03 AM
There is no point to count how many Buddhists are in the country. All Buddhists should be developed by the Philosophy of Buddhism and apply them practically for their life.
Just4Justice Tuesday, 07 May 2013 11:24 AM
Before getting these boys to organise Dansela, teach them good manners and ethics ! which is the principle of all religions.
Buffaloa Citizen Tuesday, 07 May 2013 11:31 AM
Sinhalese Buddhism is all about (a) plant a Buddha statue anywhere(b) have a loud speaker belting out Pirith any time (c) have enough lights around the place like Christmas (d) forget about the real practice and discipline of what the great Lord Buddha preached, but instead show your Sinhalese Buddhism like a patriot and don't forget to hit, maim and kill anyone
