The third annual basketball encounter between Royal College and Gateway College, played for the ‘Alles-Gunasekara Cup’, is set to be worked off on September 22 at the Gateway College Basketball Courts in Rajagiriya.
The main encounter will be preceded by an Under-15 match between the two schools, as well as an invitation match between the girls of Gateway College and Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo.
Gateway College will be led by Chevaan de Costa while Venuja Gamlath will lead the Royalists. The series tally stands at 1-1 with Royal College having won the inaugural edition in 2017 and Gateway College winning last year’s match-up.
The event is jointly organized by the Royal College Basketball Advisory and Management Committee and the Gateway College Basketball Committee.
