U-19 Super Provincial Cricket Tourney Kamil Mishara helps Colombo trounce Kandy

Team Colombo continued their winning streak when they defeated Team Kandy by 95 runs in their SLC Under-19 Super Provincial Limited Overs Cricket Tournament encounter worked off at the Dambulla Stadium yesterday.


The highlight of the match was a fine century by Kamil Mishara who scored a brisk 152 in 161 balls inclusive of 16 boundaries and three sixes.


Batting first, Team Colombo scored 269 runs in 50 overs with Mishara scoring 152 runs. 


He was supported by Ahan Wickramasinghe and Chamindu Wijesinghe who scored 30 and 29 runs respectively.


In the bowling, Team Kandy’s Kavindu Nadeeshan captured two wickets by conceding 46 runs whilst Rohan Sanjaya also grabbed two wickets for 50 runs.
In response to Team Colombo’s competitive total, Team Kandy were able to muster only 174 runs as they were all out in 38.2 overs. 


Gihan Ratnayake was the top scorer for Team Kandy with a fine knock of 49 while Avishka Tharindu contributed 32 runs and Dunith Jayatunga made 30 runs.
In addition, Chamindu Wijesinghe grabbed three Kandy wickets for just 11 runs and Sonal Dinusha also captured two wickets for 20 runs.


Kamil Mishara was named Man-of-the- Match for his outstanding knock.


Meanwhile, due to the prevailing bad weather conditions in Kandy, all matches which were scheduled to be played at the Pallekele Stadium has been shifted to the Dambulla Stadium.
Accordingly, the following games have been shifted to Dambulla: 


July 19: Team Dambulla vs Team Galle
July 21: Team Dambulla vs Team Kandy
