Three nabbed over Dharga Town WhatsApp Group

Three persons including the creator of a WhatsApp Group called Dharga Town Breaking News were arrested in Dharga Town,  by the Aluthgama Police on Saturday on charges of inciting communal hatred through social media.

The suspects are aged between 20 and 23.   

The Aluthgama Police said investigations had revealed that there were around 100 members on the said WhatsApp group and at least 25 members left the group on their own later.   
It was revealed that the mastermind of the group, who is a resident of Dharga Town, had been an overseas employee.   

He had reportedly created the group three years ago.   

They said the suspects would be detained for further questioning.
