Mahesh Senanayake hospitalised

• He was later discharged

Presidential candidate, former army commander Mahesh Senanayake was yesterday hospitalised after he fell ill while on the campaign trail, hospital sources said.   

He was admitted to the Balangoda Base Hospital and later discharged.  

Acting Hospital Director Dr. Sunil Karunanayake said Mr. Senanayake was admitted to the hospital because of a fever and was discharged on the same day.  He had attended a meeting in Balangoda when he had fallen sick.
