Karu also fit to lead the country

Minister John Amaratunga said yesterday that Speaker Karu Jayasuriya was also fit to be the leader of the country.

The Minister made these remarks while addressing a function to felicitate war hero Hasalaka Gamini Kularatne who sacrificed his life 28 years ago, during the Eelam war. Speaker Jayasuriya and Acting Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene were also among the guests.  The messages of President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe were read out at the event and a special gift from the President was handed over to war hero’s mother Y.J. Julium.
