Easter Sunday attack suspects further remanded

Fort  Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage yesterday remanded the three suspects,  including Ayesha Siddhika Mohamed Waseem, the wife of the suspect who blew himself up at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo, until January  27. 

The  suspects were not produced before the court due to the COVID-19  situation in the country and the Magistrate observed the suspects  through Skype technology and made the above order.


Mohamed  Mubarak who was directly involved  in the Easter attack, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID)  earlier informed the Magistrate and investigations have revealed that  the suspect was involved in attacks on hotels and Catholic churches,  including Kingsbury Hotel.Meanwhile,  the six suspects, including Abdul Qadir Fatima Hadiya, the wife of  suicide attack mastermind Zahran Hashim, have also been remanded until January 27.
