‘Dhanu Rock’ leader hacked with sharp blades in Jaffna

A man identified to be the leader of Northern armed gang ‘Dhanu Rock’ was hospitalized with serious injuries when he was hacked by an unidentified gang of four armed with swords near Perumal Kovil in Jaffna yesterday morning, police said.    

The Police believe the victim of the attack is Dhanu the leader of a group known as ‘Dhanu Rock’, which was responsible for a spate of recent attacks on civilians and targeted individuals. 

 
Four persons in a car had crashed into the motorcycle ridden by Dhanu and had hacked him with blades. When the police arrived at the scene after being informed, the four men had fled away leaving the car behind. Police had rushed the injured to the hospital.    Police is conducting investigations to take the suspects into custody after tracing the ownership of the car.
