Accountant gets 367-year RI for financial fraud

• The judge also issued an open warrant on the convict as he has been evading the courts

The Colombo High Court yesterday sentenced an individual, who had worked as an accountant attached to a private company, to 367 years Rigorous Imprisonment for defrauding Rs. 2 million from the company.  

The verdict was delivered by Colombo High Court judge Shashi Mahendra who imposed a fine of Rs. 1.9 million and a travel ban on the convict.   The judge also issued an open warrant on the convict as he has been evading the courts.
