The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) yesterday rejected allegations made by United National Party (UNP) candidate Oshala Herath that the Election Commission Chairman had mentioned that documents were manipulated when registering the SJB.
Mr. Herath had released audio clips to the social media to back up his claim.
SJB candidate and former MP Ajith P. Perera told a news conference that the audio clips are fake and there was no point in talking about them now.
“Mr. Herath filed a petition in the Supreme Court which was dismissed by the SC. This took place three weeks ago,” he said. “The UNP should prove its str
ength at the election. Our main rival is the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and not the UNP.”
