Can the president dissolve the Cabinet and the Parliament according to 18th Amendment? or will there be a 19th amendment for this purpose?

Those in power have always abused it. Now we give them even more power! Too much power, with no accountability, will only damage our already bleeding country! God save Sri Lanka!

A clear win for democracy. Thanks and well wishes to all MPs who supported and who did not vote against. May triple Gem, Jesus Christ, God Shiva and Allah bless us all.

It is all fault of the UNP. JR taught them how to change the constitution, Premadasa taught them how to ring the votes.

Exactly, i dont know about this 18th Ammendmnet & the purpose of it. In this instance, I blaim the opposition, as they at least did not issue a proper paper notice on this, stating the impact of 18A. Now UNP is using the JVP tactics, ie piketing and PELAPALIS. Earlier, UNP is not like this, they were very professional in politics. For all this current leadership and other UNP leaders are responsible.

How true as Lord Acton, expressed this opinion in a letter to Bishop Mandell Creighton in 1887:

"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men."

And William Pitt said in 1770

"Unlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those who possess it"
