Sudesh wins SL's first medal at C’wealth games

Sri Lanka's Sudesh Peiris won the Silver medal for Men’s weightlifting in the 62kg category at the Commonwealth Games 2014 in Glasgow.

Cyprus' Dimitris Minasidis won Gold medal in the men's 62kg category, while Vaipana Ioane of Samoa claimed the bronze.

Peiris, who is the Captain of the Sri Lankan contingent at these games, had won the Bronze Medal in the Men's 62kg clean and jerk category at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in 2010 as well.
