Several Hartals were staged in Colombo, some towns in the Eastern and Northern provinces in protest over the riots that occurred in Aluthgama on Sunday.

Business establishments owned by Muslims were closed in Vavuniya, Eravur, Valaichchenai, Oddamavadi and Kattankudy.

However administrative departments and some other business establishments were operating as usual, sources said. (R. Gokulan & Romesh Madushanka)

There are lot more things can be done by journalists.
Finding truth and the root cause. There are many wrong information going here and there even internationally.
Most of them targeting Buddhists, but everyone knows 2 times incidents happened against the monks, and 2nd time it started with a violent act.
This has to be taken properly. I don't see our local newspapers and journalists are taking stand on any of this.
Its an image of country and a great religion.
People can fight but religions are nothing to do with it.
Hope this news to be taken seriously and act by good journalists.
