A twenty-one-year-old German woman, who had been in an intoxicated state while at a night club, had allegedly been taken a house owned by a millionaire businessman in his car and abused. Later on, following a complaint made by the woman who had allegedly been taken advantage of, the 27-year-old businessman had been arrested by the Bambalapitiya police.

Sources revealed that the German woman was in the country following a course in English at the University of Colombo and was staying with four other German youth at a housing complex in the Mt Lavinia area.

According to their complaint, the German woman had gone with her friends to a five star hotel on Sunday (23) and had been dancing and consuming liquor while she was there. When she came out of the hotel in an intoxicated state the suspect had allegedly taken advantage of her after putting her into a car and driving her to his house, she had told the police in her complaint.

When she woke up in the morning she had found that she was naked and on confronting the suspect he had confessed that he had done it. Later she had been dropped by the suspect at the housing complex where her friends stayed in Mount Lavinia.

Further investigations led by of Colombo South SSP Premalal Ranagala were continuing. (Indika Ramanayake)

Moral of this story.: When in an intoxicated state do not get into unknown cars. What the heck were her companions doing during this time?

Hello, Tom. Are you from the bandwagon that says consumption of liqour is wrong and that alcohol and gambling are vices that lead to other vices? Also, even if a woman is stark naked AND drunk to boot, rape is still rape and no one ASKS for it. If a man dies while trying to cross the road, would you say 'why did he cross the road without going straight?'. Hane deyyane mehemath minissu.
