Roads are arteries of the nation. Hence no nation will survive without a good road network in this 21st century of ours, Speed in communication known as mega bits per second in the digital world and speed in road transport with smooth vehicular traffic also coming in the same category.

When compare with Gall Rd, Kottawa is parallel to Moratuwa. it take at least 4 Hrs from Moratuwa to Matara on Gall Rd. I So, the Highway save 2.5hrs on one way. Awesome.
    Well Done Mr. President. !!!!

The govt. should spend more on the agricultural sector, it is the most primary industry compared to all. Efficient transport system is essential, but now is not the right time to spend millions. Rather the govt. should start providing subsidies to farmers. Srilanka's efficient soil quality could produce more than the required and exports will become attractive.

Where on earth do you have that kind of speed limits? People are going to die. This is not Moscow to Siberia or formula one - this is a 160km stretch

Even at present, speed limits are not adhered to. Makes no difference even if it is increased to 200.
